In India, Certificate MEA Attestation Attestation is done by the Competent Authorities designated by the Government of India, which is a party to the convention. A list of these authorities is maintained by the Hague Conference on Private International Law. Examples of designated authorities for Certificate MEA Attestation Attestation are Embassies, Ministries, Courts or Local Governments. For example, in India, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) is the competent Authority to affix MEA Attestation Attestation on the Certificate for.

In this process, the Certificate issued from anywhere in India will be attested from Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), New Delhi. After that, the Certificate will be MEA Attestation by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) or Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Delhi: India. The said process is an alternate, genuine and acceptable process for the maximum number of Hague Conventional Countries (HCC) across the globe. At the same time, some Countries are very particular about indicating the MEA Attestation / Apostilization process. They require the state level Attestation / Authentication (GAD, HRD, Home Department etc.) on the Certificate before the MEA Attestation from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) or Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), New Delhi, India, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata: India.

Some Country requires the translation copy of the MEA Attestation Certificate issued in India in the English language to their own country’s languages. The translation requirement could vary from Country to Country, as some countries require the Translated Certificate after the MEA Attestation process. On the other hand, some Country requires the Translated Certificate to be MEA Attestation. Also, some country requires both the original as well as Translated Certificate to be MEA Attestation. To attest or MEA Attestation the Certificate from the above said various departments, there is no requirement of the Certificate holder (s) or their relatives.
